Iron Man: Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. #18 - [A-] - I know, I know... "Iron Man can you-know-what my you-know-what!!!!", but, dammit, I actually enjoyed this issue! I kinda felt sympathy for Tony and his crew... Loved the ending too but it felt kinda predictable...

Omega Flight #3 - [B] - Kinda not liking how this series is going so far but at least we get to see Beta Ray Bill kick some ass... But I can't help but notice that this series is super slow with the plot! 3 issues and we barely have all of the characters prepped!! Not good...

The New Warriors #1 - [B-] - Usually you can't expect much things to go down in a number one and this one's no exception. I guess this has to a bit with X-Men but I have no idea who the characters 'cept the one in the final page of course...

Ms. Marvel #16 - [B] - Not much happens in this ish but at least there are some sweet mappings for the next issues' load of revelations!

Avengers: The Initiative #3 - [B] - Not as good as last issue but it still kept the plot unraveling. My only complaint's that there should be another Initiative tie-in. I mean, Initiative's in the title and already we're heading for a World War Hulk tie-in! Ah, but I'm sure next issue'll be good...

Stephen King's The Dark Tower: The Gunslinger Born #5 - [A] - Jae Lee's such an incredibly talented artist!! The cover had me already intrigued since I saw it! Pretty much there's conflicts that are just giving Roland & Co. crap. Real great dialogue and plot. Unfortunately, this issue's already in #5 and that saddens me because in just two months this will be over...

Marvel Zombies Vs. Army of Darkness #4 - [B-] - Nothing big happens here except Ash finally realizing that he's basically screwed and can't escape but I'm positive he'll find a way-- he always does...

My pick of the week is...

Dark Tower #4. Great issue advancing the awesome plot. Also, I couldn't help but love The Laughing Mirror Parts II-III! They're so sadistically great back-up stories!!!

OKAY! Another week, another report card to fill out:

MARVEL

Uncanny X-Men #487 [A] - This was to be my last ish of this series! I am done after this! Right? WRONG!!!!! This issue rocked me! The art is better than ever!!!! The writing was a great treat! The Morlocks are back and there freakin' evil! Storm's cameo was great! The 5 page scene between Nightcrawler and Prof. X, was so well done! The art was pitch on! This was the 1st ish of a 5 part arc and I'm staying for this arc now! WOOOO-HOOOO!!!!! I LOVED this issue!

Stephen King's The Dark Tower: The Gunslinger Born #5 [A] - This was a very well done issue! Nice pace to this one! Jae Lee's art dazzled me again! One has to be impressed by the great writing! All around, sweet issue! But like Kevin, I am sad that only 2 more issues and it's over...

Avengers: The Initiative - Yeah it was good! I loved the Spidey cameo and all! The art and writing has been on so far! I can't wait for the WWH issues! Although I see what Kevin is saying! A comic that is supposed to be all about The Initiative should have about 10 issues of The Initiative! But yeah, good issue!

Marvel Zombies Vs. Army of Darkness #4 [B-] - I actually agree with everything Kevin said! Nothing big happens here! I am tempted to give it a C! And I LOVE the Zombies universe! It was still good, but with only 1 issue left, they better have a damn good conclusion!

Countdown #47 [A-] - Good issue! Really enjoyed it! Better than last week's ish, by a little! This weekly series is shaping up to be just as great as 52! And yes, it IS leaving a hole in my wallet! Damn you DC! Why must you make such great weekly series?

I am still gonna buy New Warriors #1 and Omega Flight #3! I just have to wait a week!

And now my favorite comic-book of the week, which will be eligible for the best book of June is...

Uncanny X-men #487!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Everytihing about this book rocked! I'm staying with the title for a while now! SO glad I bought it! Very good issue!
And Dark Tower #5, is a close 2nd!

Another week, another period to grade!

MARVEL

Punisher War Journal #8 [B+] - All right, I have to admit, it was better than the last issue! It still did not blow me away! The story has been kinda meh, for me so far! I still think that suit looks ridicolous! The art is kinda meh for me as well! Still decent ish, but nothing superb!

The New Avengers #31 [A-] - Yeah it was actually very good! It wrapped things up somewhat! Still the ending baffled me! I didn't really get it! Bendis was good here as usual, but it wasn't his best! I actually love the art! Yu's style is different from anything else, and I like it! Solid issue, can't wait for more! Oh but WTF happened to Elektra????

Sub-Mariner #1 [A] - Wow! It lived up to my expetations! I don't know about his outfit, but everything else in this book kicked major ass! I really loved it! Nitro is still completly deranged too! I can't wait to see where things go from here! There could be a War between Atlantis and America! The art was great and the writing was spot on! Very well done issue!!

The Avengers Classic #1 [A-] - Yeah I wanted to pick this up! The cover art was frickin' amazing, so I had too! I already have The Avengers #1 in a tpb, so the reprint was nothing much too me! The 2 back up stories were interesting! I did enjoy it! I'm not collecting this series, just the 1st ish! But good start to it!

World War Hulk #1 [A++++++++] - WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! IT'S HERE! What didn't I love about this issue? Nothing! The beatdown Stark took, The Hulk back on Earth, the art, the writing, the HYPE! READ THIS! It was great! It completly dazzled me just like I knew it would! My God it was amazing!!!!! The previews to WWH tie ins at the end, were the icing on the cake! BEAUTIFUL!!!!!

Countdown #46 [A] - This issue was very good! The art was great as usual! The story was excellent! Plenty of action! I think it is getting better every week! This series is sweet!!! I LOVEDDDDDD this one! Almost tempted to give it an A+, but sadly no! IT WAS GOOD, though! REAL good!

And this week's best comic goes too... (it will be in the running for best comic of June, mind you...)

WORLD WAR HULK #1!!!!!!!!!!!!
Suprised??? OF COURSE NOT! How could you not pick this one as book of the month! THE WAR IS ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GO HULK GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The New Avengers #31- [A] - Kinda was thinking this ish was going to be sold out by the hype surrounding it, but like A1, I was confused... So Elektra was a Skrull the entire time or what?? Pretty good work by Lenil Yu too!!

Nova #3- [A+] - Very well done issue that even guest-starred one of my new favorite characters: Penance! Nova's probaly the equivalent of Spider-Man before all that Other/Civil War crap happened to him. This issue was incredibly emotional for Richard and led to a nice ending.

Punisher War Journal #8- [B-] - I'm not really understanding the chronology here at all... I think the only reason I began reading this was to see Frank cut loose but there hasn't been much in this arc.

Sub-Mariner #1- [B+] - I forgot that Namor used to be called Sub-Mariner in a while but now I see why they first called him that. He's so primal and dangerous sorta like Black Bolt. I guess Namor's having trouble with his followers and vows to dispose of it and I can't wait 'til he opens a can of whup-ass on those responsible!

World War Hulk #1- [A] - Not much happens 'cept of course HULK SMASHING IRON MAN!!!!! Even though he sorta pulled a couple punches (notice how he doesn't kill him...) Also, he beat the hell out of Black Bolt off panel!!! I was really looking forward to that!! But Greg Pak left a great cliffhanger! But I can't help but notice that Romita Jr.'s art is a little awkward at times... He's still a great artist, don't get me wrong, but this doesn't feel as right as I thought it would... Ah, but I'm sure I'll disagree later-- hopefully...

My pick of the week is...

Nova #3. I never really liked Nova as much as I thought I would, but wow these issues really put things in perspective for me!
